Julie Rowen

Originally from St. Louis, Julie Rowen arrived in Los Angeles by way of Chicago, where she began her career working in the film business with writer and director John Hughes. She has worked on a number of films, including Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Far and Away, The Paper, and Apollo 13. Most recently, Julie wrote and directed the documentary The Air Of The Time, about women fashion designers. She continues to write and direct film projects with her company Blue Collar Productions. She is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Julie writes children’s fiction, and is currently working on a series of stories about Fred, a lovable Labrador puppy.
