Sabachthani, Margaret Evangeline and Dominique Nahas
American artist Margaret Evangeline’s Sabachthani is a cry, not of pain, but of lamentation upon the use of force and its cumulative effect on individuals and communities over time. Sabachthani traces the intricate development of this powerful series, initiated as a collaboration with soldiers at Balad Air Base in Afghanistan in 2011, shortly before American troops were withdrawn from Iraq.
Margaret Evangeline is an American artist living in New York City, where she is represented by Stux Gallery. Dominique Nahas is a widely published independent curator and critic based in Manhattan, New York City.
