WE CONNECT AUTHORS WITH PUBLISHERS.
We support our authors through every step of the publishing process, nurturing relationships with publishers while offering extensive editorial guidance, from content development to copy editing.
Employing our wide network of domestic and international agents, publishers, and packagers, we are in an ideal position to develop and execute each individual client’s project.
Our client list is intentionally small and select to maintain a high level of personal involvement and quality.
We can help you polish and refine your work in-house, as well as connect you to quality designers, illustrators, independent editors, and other publishing professionals.
Writing the First Draft of History
In Mr. Trump’s Wild Ride, Major Garrett provides what journalists are often said to do, but usually don’t: a true first draft of history. His goal was to sift through the mountains of distracting tweets and shrieking headlines in order to focus on the most significant moments of Trump’s young presidency, the ones that Garrett believes will have a lasting impact. The result is an authoritative, mature, and consistently entertaining account of one of the strangest eras in American political history.

Founder & Executive Agent
Ann Tanenbaum is a veteran of the publishing industry with 50 years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has held editorial and marketing positions at The Viking Press and Random House as well as executive positions at Harry N. Abrams Inc., Doubleday International, and Newsweek.
She established Tanenbaum International in 1980 as a literary agency and consulting firm focusing on strategic alliances between authors and international/North American publishers. In addition to representing books on seasoned gallery artists and museums, the theatre, and many children’s books, Ann has a commitment to nurturing projects on current affairs, politics, and history.
Ian McMahon joined Tanenbaum International after graduating from Bard College with a degree in Literature. He has worked for multiple literary agencies, providing editorial guidance on many literary adult and young adult novels, as well as non-fiction with a strong narrative. Originally from Florida, Ian also has experience working for community non-profits.
Ian is interested in reading literary fiction, upmarket fiction, narrative non-fiction, and any and all submissions that are politically and socially engaging. He is passionate about character and setting driven narratives that seriously explore writing as an art form.
Thanks to Ann Tanenbaum we were connected with brilliant author Sue DiCicco, whose poetry and lively illustrations were a perfect fit for our museum’s first children’s book, Adventures in Asian Art. Ann immediately understood how this book underscored our mission to creatively inspire audiences of all ages.
Ann Tanenbaum and Ella Snow are supreme professionals. It has been a pleasure working with them.”
Thanks to the experienced, capable, and talented team at Tanenbaum International, my career has taken off in new and rewarding ways. In the delicate dance of author/agent relationships, they are the perfect partner. Thank you, Ann and Ella!
